Question of the day!!!

ADULT TALK.

Is it TRUE that when a woman is pregnant with a son she just hates her husband to the BONE MARROW and when she is pregnant with a daughter she will just want to be with him, touch him and becomes very fond of his SMELL?

REASONS IGBOS AND YORUBAS SHOULD'NT MARRY. DO YOU AGREE?

This article was written by Vera Ezimora, stumbled upon it minutes ago while surfing the net so I decided to share. I find it really hilarious. when I saw the headline, I really don't know why my mind went straight to Femi Fani Kayode and Bianca Ojukwu's relationship/conflict. (I hope I'm not courting trouble) Vera writes, "If you have been pressured into breaking up because of tribal differences and you have no idea why you should – or if you should, then I am here to help you make that decision."

Reasons Igbos Should NOT Marry Yorubas:

(1) They're dirty.

(2) All they know how to do is party.

(3) They eat too much oil.

(4) Their women flirt/sleep around too much.

(5) Their men will ALWAYS cheat with a Yoruba woman.

(6) They are loud and obnoxious. You can hear them from a mile away.

(7)  They are wild. They are the real "Akata" people.

(8) They are Nigeria's problem.

(9) They don't understand the Igbo culture.

(10)  They do too much juju.

(11)  They betrayed the Igbos during the Biafran war.

(12) And to top the list, they are not Igbo.

Reasons Yorubas Should NOT Marry Igbos:

(1) They're rude; they have no respect.

(2) All they know how to do is chase money.

(3) Their pounded yam is as hard as stone.

(4) They don't put enough oil and spice in their food.

(5) Their in-laws are wicked! The husband's family will always maltreat the woman.

(6) They cannot speak Yoruba, and even if they can, they do not know our culture.

(7) They will sell their brother for money.

(8) They won't let us play our fuji music at home.

(9) They're Nigeria's problem. They keep trying to divide us.

(10) When their women die, their bodies have to be returned to Igbo Land to be buried.

(11) They eat human beings.

(12) And the mother of all crimes, they are not Yoruba.

Fame To Shame: The Many Faces Of Majek Fashek

Before-and-After.jpgIt is a thing of shame how hitherto top stars fall into shame when they could not manage their fame. From the likes of Michael Jackson, to Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse, to our own music icon, Majekodunmi Fasheke, popularly known as Majek Fashek, a one-time top Nigerian reggae musician who was once touted to be the natural successor to Bob Marley.
The iconic singer and guitarist who took the Nigerian music scene by storm and churned out several hit bangers that made people tag him a musical prophet, was so big that Tuff Gong records, the same label that had Marley in its stable, signed him on knowing that he had what it took to be the best. His song ‘Send Down The Rain’ was as prophetic as it could be and he was held in high esteem.

But Majek blew it, got into drugs and many other vices. Fashek was born in Benin City, an Edo mother and a Yoruba father first gained national fame on a television show in the early 1980s as a member of Benin-based reggae group Jastix. His band-mates included Ras Kimono and Amos McRoy Gregg. They toured for many years with fellow reggae group The Mandators. In 1988, shortly after Jastix disbanded, he began a solo career and quickly became the best-known reggae artist in Nigeria.
His song ‘Send Down The Rain’ was a hit, and he won six US-based PMAN Music Awards. After leaving Tabansi Records, he was signed to CBS Nigeria in the early 1990s before moving to Island Records’ Mango imprint, a label more accustomed to marketing reggae internationally.
His first album for the company included a cover version of Bob Marley’s ‘Redemption Song’. In 1990, he was signed to Interscope Records and released the critically acclaimed album Spirit Of Love, produced by ‘Little Steven’ Van Zandt. Flame Tree released ‘The Best of Majek Fashek’ in 1994. He recorded several albums for various labels since, including Rainmaker for Tuff Gong (1997) and Little Patience for Coral (2004).
But today, Majek is shadow of himself as he has been eaten by drugs and other devices. We are not condemning here but we all want to see Majek Fashek get rehabilitated. Black Entertainment takes a look at the many faces of Majek from when he was a handsome young reggae act to now that he has become somewhat of a scarecrow. Who will help this wasted talent?

I am the Jesus of Nigerian music - Jesse Jagz

Jesse Jagz, producer, singer and artist MI’s younger brother, claims he is Nigerian music's saviour and the only musician who can rescue Nigerian music.

The artist, born Jesse Garba Abaga, used to be a member of Chocolate City with his older brother Jude Abaga. He quit the label earlier this year and has since started his own musical endeavour, Jesse Jagz Nation.

The Jos, Plateau State born entertainer who is known for his magic fingers on the turn table says that Nigerian music is "unintelligent" and that "even goats can dance to our music".

Jesse Jagz who is now the undisputed Afrikan Shrine spiritual leader, told HipHop World Magazine that he is his own top artiste in the country.

"My top 3 artistes in Nigeria are me, me, me. No one works harder than me."

"I would love to see a lot of my colleagues step up their game. You don’t need Jesus to tell you that Nigerian music is unintelligent."

"Can Jesse Jagz make Nigeria a better place for Wizkid? Can Wizkid do same too?

"Let adults do better and let kids party. We need to leave something better for the coming generation."

Jennifer Adighije- Okolo Wins N13.5M Court Case Against HELIOS Towers

The Industrial Court, Ikoyi, Lagos has given a ruling in favour of Jennifer Adighije-Okolo, the well known designer who is the creative director of the House of Silk against her former employer Helios Towers, a telecom firm.  In the court ruling, the Telecom firm would need to pay, Jennifer Adighije-Okolo #13.55 Million for unfairly terminating her employment. Jennifer before the sack was the company's Head of Operations & Planning.

The Company had terminated their former employee's appointment for what they had termed poor performance (performing below par), Jennifer not satisfied with how she was sacked had taken the company to the Industrial Court, Ikoyi, Lagos seeking for redress. The end result of the case is her winning #9 Million which is the sum total of her salary from between February 1, 2010 to January 31, 2012. Apart from the #9 Million, the defendant would also be paying the claimant another #4.5 Million for damages and also awarded in the claimant's favour is another #50,000 cost.

According to Jennifer, she had been graded excellent by her immediate boss in her yearly appraisal, only for another appraisal body (the management review team) to have given an appraisal of below average, consequent upon which her appointment was terminated.

In his Judgement, Justice O. Abaseki-Osaghae said - The claimant testified as the only witness in support of her claims. She also stated that her performance was very much appreciated by the defendant that when there was a job rotation, she was asked to take charge as Head, Operation/Planning in September 2009. That all through her employment with the defendant, she was conscious of her personal objective with the defendant company, which she knew would form the basis of her rating in the annual appraisal.

“It is the law that an employer is not bound to give reason for terminating the appointment of its employee but where the employer gives a reason, the law imposes on him a duty to establish the reason to the satisfaction of the court.

“I find that the said management review team was acting out a script when, spitefully, maliciously and without any basis, wrote on the claimant’s appraisal form ‘Below expectation’ and recommended that her appointment be terminated.”

The court upheld the claimant’s position that she was entitled to compensation, since she signed the restrictive covenant, not to work for any other telecommunication company, until after two years of her leaving the company.   “She has kept to this covenant. I, therefore, award the sum of N9million as compensation being her salary for two years from January 2010 to January 31, 2012 pursuant to section 19 (d) of the National Industrial Act, 2006.

“For all the reasons given above, I find that the claimant has proved her case. I hereby, declare and make the following orders: the claimant’s employment with the defendant was wrongfully terminated. The letter of termination is hereby set aside. The reason given in the termination notice written by the defendant that the claimant’s “performance has failed to meet acceptable standard” is false and malicious.

“The defendant is to pay the claimant the sum of N4.5million as damages for wrongful termination of her appointment. The defendant is to pay the claimant the sum of N9million as compensation for the period February 1, 2010 to January 31, 2012. The sums are to be paid within 30 days from the date of this judgment. I award in favour of the claimant cost of N50, 000 to be paid by the defendant. Judgment is entered accordingly.”

Drake & Nicki Minaj Finally Reconcile

Drake and Nicki Minaj's relationship went sour as they went from close label mates to estranged superstars which Drake referenced on his new album’s opening track “Tuscan Leather”. In a new interview with Los Angeles’ Power 106, Drake says that he and Nicki have mended fences.
“The album is a journey, so the first song is not where I’m at in my life right now, I started this album a year and a half ago, and it did kind of go in chronological order, for the most part. That song kind of picks up at an earlier point in my life. I had done something that I had to just re evaluate and fix. We’re good. We definitely talk. I saw her the other night. It was all love.”“I choose to express personal things in my music and I don’t ever do it with malice,” Drake continued. “I hope that when she hears that line, she understands that what I’m saying is that she’s necessary in my life and that I care about her. It’s never with bad intentions. I did express that, and I did also fix that, which I’m happy about.”

ASUU strike: Lecturers are only fighting for allowances, not better education – FG

The rift between the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has deepened even as the FG accused the organization of fighting for its own selfish interests and not for the benefit of  Nigerian students.
The  government has accused the university body of not being honest and sincere about the real motive behind the almost 3-month
old strike which has crippled academic activities in the country’s universities.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Youth and Students Matters, Jude Imagwe, reportedlystated that the claim by the union that its action was to restore infrastructural decay in universities was nothing but a lie, noting that ASUU was fighting for allowances.
Comrade Imagwe was speaking in Abuja when he received some youth groups, who were on a visit to his office.
His words: “They initially told us that it was about infrastructure, but it is about allowances. N30b has been released for the payment of their accumulated allowances, and N100b earmarked for infrastructural development. It is important for the public to know that government did not say this is all that it will give, but government says go and start the payment with this amount and let us know the amount it will add.”
Meanwhile, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) will tomorrow join ASUU on strike as the union said it has mobilized its members across the country to embark on industrial action over alleged stoppage of their salaries for two months.
SSANU, in a letter, dated 27 September, 2013, and addressed to its branch chairmen in all the universities in the country, directed its members to stay away from work from tomorrow until the salaries are fully paid.
The President of SSANU, Comrade Samson Ugwoke, said the strike will be total, while the General Secretary, who signed the letter directing members to stay at home from tomorrow, Comrade Promise Adewusi, said no member should go back to work until a counter directive was given.
Adewusi stated that the union took the decision following its letters to the vice-chancellors in universities, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, Ministers of Labour and Productivity, Chief Emeka Wogu and Education, Nyesom Wike, as well as the Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission, Prof. Julius Okojie.
In the meantime, the suspended strike by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) is to resume on Friday.
The union alleged insincerity and failure of the Federal Government to honour agreement entered with the union.
The union also passed a vote of no confidence on the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), alleging that the board has failed to meet the needs and demands of polytechnic education in the country.

“If I have sex, I will sing about it”, Gospel musician, Maheeda

Musician Maheeda has always been known for courting controversy. So when the singer, who is famous for her semi-nude photos, suddenly proclaimed last year that she was born-again, the news was received with amusement and disbelief.

And it seems they were right to take her “conversion” with a pinch of salt. The star, who became a gospel musician when she reportedly converted, is not born again anymore.
She has reportedly returned to her old ways of posting pictures of herself, half-clad, on the internet.
One of her fans apparently caught wind of her “backsliding” when she made a less than Christian comment and he challenged her by asking on Twitter if it was true that she was into gospel music. And to this Maheeda reportedly responded:
“My music is based on life. If I have sex, I will sing about it.”
Well, there you have it.
