Mad Woman Caught With N100K, ATM Cards & Smartphones

A woman said to be mentally-challenged escaped being lynched by angry mob on Wednesday in Lagos after she was allegedly caught with N100,000, two Blackberries and one Android phone.

According to report from the scene of the incident around Onabanjo Street, Oworonshoki, Lagos, it was learnt that the incident occurred around 10am. The woman has been arrested and taking to station.

A policeman who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said attempts to verify the allegations were fruitless. He said, “I have been asking the woman questions all day, but she has just been incoherent. She has even refused to tell us her name. At some point, she just started crying, so I let her sleep. I don’t even know if she is a mad woman.”

Some residents of the area told Punch that two ATM cards were also found on the woman. A resident, James Ogunkoya said when some youths saw the woman with some money, they trailed her into a compound.

The youths, who suspected her of being a ritual killer, pounced on her and beat her to a pulp.

Ogunkoya said, “Around 10am, I saw a crowd around an unkempt woman. Some of the youths picked up sticks and were beating the woman. When I asked what was wrong, they said they found three phones and N100,000 with the her. They said the woman was not mad, but was only pretending to be mad so that she could easily perpetrate evil acts.”

Another resident said the youths started suspecting her as she was overheard speaking like a normal person with somebody two days ago. “Some guys were convinced that the woman was only pretending because they overheard her talking with a man on Monday night. They also wondered where a mad woman could have found the phones,” he added.

“I do not condone people taking the laws into their hands. However, it is a reflection of the level of insecurity coupled with the discovery of the activities of ritual killers in Oyo and Ogun states.

“The notorious cannibal, Clifford Oji, used to parade himself as a mad man as well. We have also seen cases in our neighbourhood where supposed mad people kidnapped children. We want the government to support the community in setting up a task force that will evacuate mentally-challenged people,” the General Secretary, Oworonshoki Youth Forum, Babajide Kabiawusaid said.

Nigeria Police say they are not making any conclusions yet until they conclude their investigations.

Disturbing video of drunk policeman assaulting 2 women in Lagos

A drunk police officer with the Mopol 20 in Lagos identified as Tafa Mohammed was filmed brutalizing 2 women at Lewis Street, Lafiaji, Obalende, Lagos Island, after one of the ladies, a street food vendor, refused to sell him fish to finish up his beer.

According to Sahara Reporters, the food seller was said to have declined to sell fish alone, except to those buying food with it, a vendor policy that angered the policeman. The policeman, who was reeking of alcohol according to eye witnesses, then targeted a female customer who was buying food from the same vendor and pulled the women into muddy water where he physically assaulted her.

Mohammed is then seen drawing his gun and pointing it at one of the women and was actually backed-up with the presence of another mopol. The torture reportedly caused internal injuries for the victim. Watch the disturbing video after the cut...

According to the Daily Mail, a UK court has heard how a 21 year old youth of Nigerian origin in the UK, Emmanuel Kalejaiye stabbed and killed his mother, Tolu Kalejaiye.

The prosecution alleged that Kalejaiye had planned to commit the ‘perfect murder’ by killing his 44-year-old mother before dressing up as her to allow himself precious time to dispose of her body.

The court heard that Kalejaiye had written out a detailed plan including notes on how to walk in high heels and had receipts for pink women’s clothing.

Police found a bloodied pink jumper and pink trousers, which Kalejaiye had bought from Primark, a clothing store, a month earlier, as well as scraps of paper detailing an alleged murder plot.

The jury also heard how Kalejaiye, who was born in Nigeria but moved to England as a small boy, stabbed his mother to death on the morning of September 26 last year.

More receipts also found at the house showed the murder weapon came from a knife block bought by Kalejaiye at a supermarket just a month before the brutal stabbing.

His mother, Mrs Kalejaiye, who worked as an accountant for Camden Council, suffered more than 40 stab wounds to her head, face, neck, upper limbs and hands during the ‘frenzied’ knife attack.

She had even called her boyfriend, Leo Shogunle, on her phone during the attack at around 7.30am – although he only received the message when he awoke later that morning.

The jury was played a disturbing three-minute voicemail in which the mother-of-two can be heard screaming ‘don’t stab me, don’t stab me – you’re a demon’, before the message fell chillingly silent.

According to the Daily Mail, Mr Shogunle raced to the home shortly after 10am on the morning of the attack after hearing the message and let himself in using a spare key.

When he reached there, he found the bloodied body of Mrs Kalejaiye lying on the kitchen floor and her son Emmanuel Kalejaiye, who said his mother had been attacked before he ran out of the house.

Kalejaiye was later seen on CCTV at around 10.30am calmly buying a can of coke and a pack of Maryland cookies at a local post office before handing himself in to police.

During police interview, he signed a confession stating:

‘I admit killing my mother this morning by stabbing her.
‘I did this because she subjected me to a lifetime of physical and mental abuse.
‘She used the Bible to rationalise what she did to me. I believe she manipulated and brainwashed me.
‘I have been very depressed for a long time. I have tried to overcome it but I couldn’t take it anymore.’
Kalejaiye later changed his story saying a gang of white armed robbers had burst into their home, forced him to stab his mum then threatened him with further violence if he told the police.

The university of Essex student went onto claim the mystery men had forced him to dress up in the ‘ill-fitting’ pink clothing and pink flip flops to move his mother’s Mercedes car – a move the prosecution claimed had been an attempt fool neighbours into thinking his mother had driven to work.

However, evidence from an expert psychiatrist says Kalejaiye had been suffering from severe depression and paranoid schizophrenia at the time of the attack.

The court also heard how fellow students at Essex University, where Kalejaiye had studied biochemistry, found him ‘weird and paranoid.’

Kalejaiye has been found not guilty of murder, but guilty of manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility, due to mental health issues. The verdict came following a two-week trial.

Judge Christopher Ball QC said:

‘The evidence shows the defendant is capable of a very deliberate and calculated act of supreme violence.
‘If as a paranoid schizophrenic he is capable of this, he may present a very significant danger to anyone who upsets him for many years to come.
‘I am keen to see the extent to which paranoid schizophrenia will underscore the danger he poses to others in the future to assess a proper sentence.’
The judge has also requested a full psychiatric report into the danger Kalejaiye could be to the public ahead of sentencing in June.

Is it over with P-Square?

I've been hearing a few stories about Peter and Paul Okoye of P-Square having issues for a while now. I hear they disagree on everything now...songs, videos, ideas etc...but because they are twin brothers, I figured well, they will sort things out...so I didn't write.

On Wednesday April 16th, I gathered exclusively from industry sources that the brothers fought each other physically during rehearsals. They had to be separated by their dancers. This is fact! But I decided to leave the story alone because which sibling doesn't disagree sometimes, right? But now their older brother, Jude Okoye, who is also their manager, just tweeted that after ten years he's done.



I hear one of the wives is causing some of the problems between the brothers. *sigh* Dear P-Square, don't even think of breaking up. You will break the hearts of millions of people...including myself. Please stay together.
